Founder Lisa Ganora

Lisa was a Wise Woman tradition community herbalist for ten years before she studied botany, chemistry, and health sciences at the University of North Carolina, Asheville, and graduated with highest honors and several awards. After UNCA, she focused on creating educational materials on medicinal plants, herbal constituents, and phytochemistry for practitioners.

Lisa served as Adjunct Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, and has lectured and taught classes at numerous schools and conferences. She is the author of Herbal Constituents, the standard textbook of phytochemistry for herbalists. In 2012, Lisa founded the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism, where she continues to teach periodically. She currently spends most of her time on events at Elderberry’s Herbal Education and Retreat Center, teaching at conferences and online, formulating herbal products, and writing her upcoming books: Herbal Constituents, 2nd edition [now available through Lulu] and Herbal Constituents Materia Medica.
