Welcome to Elderberry’s Herbal Education & Retreat Center on our beautiful 4-acre farm in Paonia, Colorado! Experience traditional Nature Cure & Vitalist therapeutics among the gardens, herb beds, fruit trees, & wildlands nearby. For the Spring, Summer & Fall of 2021, the farm will be hosting workshops, apprenticeships, immersions, events & retreats to help you reconnect with the healing powers of Nature & to expand your knowledge of earth-based medicines & foods. Elderberry’s is a place to rest, learn, heal, rejuvenate & connect with Nature in community.

The Farm

Elderberry’s is home to a charming, periwinkle-blue 1908 farmhouse & apartments, a sacred-space yurt & a new herbal lab/maker space. The grounds are graced with fruit trees, herb gardens, & a wildflower meadow.  Happy Belly CSA, a half-acre biodynamic food & medicine farm shares our end of the road. Our botanical sanctuary is on the edge of town, in a quiet, peaceful, varied landscape with huge Cottonwood trees shading the lawns & stunning views of the wild West Elks range of the Rocky Mountains. It’s the perfect place to shed the chaos of city life & recharge your vitality.

Eat fresh food right from local farms & gardens and rest in the camping meadow under brilliant stars or stay in one of our tiny houses. Find yourself at home among healing waters, where the Minnesota creek and mountain snowmelt converge to nourish the land & soothe the mind, body, and spirit.

The Land

This breathtaking landscape is surrounded by an expanse of mountains & mesas, with clear air & pure mountain spring water. Sage & Juniper grow in wild abundance among other aromatic plants & wildflowers. Deer & coyotes are our most abundant wild neighbors.

Elderberry’s is located on the edge of Paonia, in the North Fork Valley, an area known for its fertile soil that supports the abundant growth of organic fruits & vegetables. This unique micro-climate is often compared to the Provence region of France in the summer. Paonia is home to the highest concentration of organic farms, vineyards & orchards in the state – truly a haven for plant-lovers, gardeners, herbalists, healers & creatives!
